Project Lead, Multi-Cloud FinOps

Key Responsibilities

1. Strategic FinOps Implementation & Governance

- Define the Roadmap: Design and execute the complete FinOps strategy and roadmap tailored to client's business objectives and multi-cloud architecture.
- Establish Governance: Implement centralized governance and policy-as-code frameworks to ensure cost standards, tagging compliance, and consistent resource management across all cloud environments.
- Drive Cultural Change: Lead the change management effort to embed a cost-conscious culture across engineering and product teams (Shift-Left FinOps).

2. Cost Optimization & Financial Efficiency

- Maximize Cost Savings: Proactively identify and execute high-impact cost optimization opportunities, focusing on rightsizing, waste elimination (idle resources), and leveraging commitment strategies (Reserved Instances, Savings Plans) across all cloud providers.
- Forecasting & Budgeting: Develop accurate, data-driven cloud forecasting and budgeting models to reduce variance and improve financial predictability for client's leadership.
- Unit Economics: Establish and track FinOps KPIs, such as Cost Per Transaction or Cost Per Unit, aligning cloud spending with specific business outcomes to quantify value.

3. Transparency, Reporting & Stakeholder Management

- Financial Visibility: Implement and manage FinOps tooling (native or third-party) to provide real-time, granular visibility into multi-cloud spending by business unit, application, and project.
- Chargeback/Showback: Design and deploy automated cost allocation, showback, and/or chargeback models to instill clear financial ownership and accountability.
- Executive Alignment: Act as the primary liaison between Tech , Finance, and Client Technology leadership, presenting clear, actionable insights on cost trends and strategic recommendations.

Required Skills & Experience

- Experience: 5+ years of experience in FinOps, Cloud Financial Management, or similar cloud cost optimization roles, with a minimum of 2 years in a leadership or project management capacity.
- Multi-Cloud Expertise (Mandatory): Deep, hands-on working knowledge of billing, pricing models, commitment mechanisms (RIs/SPs), and cost optimization techniques for at least two major public clouds (AWS, Microsoft Azure, or GCP).
- Technical & Analytical Proficiency: Strong analytical skills with proven experience manipulating and interpreting large cloud usage datasets. Proficiency in building dashboards/reports using tools like Power BI, Tableau, or cloud-native cost management tools.
- Leadership & Communication: Exceptional stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence technical and non-technical audiences, from engineers to C-level executives.
- FinOps Foundation: Certification or demonstrated alignment with the FinOps Foundation Framework and Principles is highly preferred.
