Operate

Post-migration managed operations, FinOps governance and continuous improvement keep you ahead of the curve.

Going live on Azure is a milestone, not the finish line. The Operate phase is where Saints & Masters becomes your Azure managed service partner — providing continuous infrastructure management, proactive monitoring, cost governance, and security operations so your business runs without interruption and your engineering team stays focused on innovation.

What we deliver in Operate:

  • 24/7 Azure infrastructure monitoring — Real-time alerting across virtual machines, App Services, AKS clusters, databases, and networking components, with SLA-backed incident response and pre-agreed escalation playbooks.
  • Incident management & response — End-to-end incident lifecycle management: detection, triage, containment, and root-cause analysis, followed by post-incident reviews and tracked remediation actions.
  • Patch & change management — Scheduled patching across Azure IaaS and PaaS workloads via Azure Update Manager, with controlled maintenance windows and change-advisory board alignment to minimise production risk.
  • FinOps & cost governance — Continuous spend monitoring via Azure Cost Management, automated rightsizing recommendations, reserved-instance and Azure Hybrid Benefit optimisation, and monthly cloud economics reporting. Clients typically achieve 35–40% cost reduction within the first year.
  • Security posture management — Ongoing Microsoft Defender for Cloud monitoring, Sentinel alert triage, Entra ID identity hygiene, and policy compliance enforcement across all subscriptions — aligned to your documented risk appetite and regulatory requirements.
  • Azure Advisor & Well-Architected reviews — Quarterly structured reviews across reliability, security, cost, performance, and operational excellence to identify drift and drive continuous improvement.
  • Governance & compliance reporting — Azure Policy enforcement, resource tagging governance, and audit-ready compliance reporting for ISO 27001, SOC 2, PDPA, and other frameworks your organisation is subject to.
  • Runbook and knowledge management — Living operational documentation maintained alongside your environment, so institutional knowledge is never lost when team members change.

How we operate differently:

Our Azure Operate service is built on Azure-native tooling — Azure Monitor, Defender for Cloud, Sentinel, Cost Management, and Update Manager — to keep your estate clean, observable, and free from unnecessary third-party lock-in. You retain full portal access and visibility at all times. We work as an embedded extension of your team, aligned to your delivery cadence and escalation preferences, not a reactive help desk.

We offer three service tiers to match your scale and operational maturity:

  • Foundation — Monitoring, alerting, and incident response for production workloads with 6-hour SLA response
  • Govern — Foundation plus FinOps governance, security posture management, monthly Well-Architected reviews, and compliance reporting
  • Optimise — Govern plus continuous rightsizing cycles, reserved-instance lifecycle management, and quarterly executive cloud health reporting

Who this is for:

  • Organisations that have completed an Azure migration and need reliable operational continuity without expanding internal headcount
  • Regulated businesses in financial services, healthcare, or the public sector that require documented SLAs and audit-ready evidence of operational controls
  • Engineering teams that want to reclaim time lost to infrastructure toil and redirect it toward product development and strategic projects
  • Finance and procurement leaders who need predictable cloud costs, clear accountability, and monthly reporting they can present to the board

The outcome:

Within the first 90 days of Operate engagement, your Azure environment will be fully monitored, cost-governed, and security-hardened — with documented runbooks, an operational playbook tailored to your team, Defender for Cloud findings actively managed, and a monthly reporting pack your finance and leadership teams can act on. You gain a managed cloud operation without the overhead of building one internally.

Protect

The Protect phase ensures that cloud environments remain secure, resilient, compliant, and continuously optimized. As organizations expand their cloud footprint, protecting data, applications, and infrastructure becomes increasingly important.

Protection extends beyond cybersecurity to include governance, risk management, business continuity, disaster recovery, and operational resilience. A proactive protection strategy helps organizations safeguard critical assets while maintaining trust and compliance.

We implement comprehensive security and resilience frameworks that provide continuous protection across cloud environments. Our services include threat detection, identity and access management, compliance monitoring, disaster recovery planning, and security operations.

We continuously assess and improve security controls to address evolving threats and regulatory requirements.

Key Activities

  • Identity and access management
  • Security monitoring and threat detection
  • Compliance and governance management
  • Data protection and encryption
  • Backup and disaster recovery
  • Vulnerability management
  • Incident response planning
  • Continuous security optimization

Cyber threats, compliance requirements, and operational risks continue to evolve. Organizations need a proactive approach to protect their digital assets and maintain business continuity. The Protect phase strengthens resilience, reduces risk, enhances compliance, and ensures that cloud investments remain secure and sustainable over the long term.
